Sciatica

 Before seeing Dr. Schnelle I was suffering with severe lower back pain, sciatica, and neck pain. It started as a teen, has been on and off for the past 30 years, and continued to get worse. I had seen many doctors over the years. Treatment was always drug therapy and physical therapy. Nothing worked and I have sensitivity to narcotics so the pain medication made me sick on top of the pain. The most recent treatment was steroid injections, which provided only a temporary relief and were very expensive.

My results under Dr. Schnelle’s care is that I now have my life back! Months ago I was facing taking Morphine and/or other narcotics for the rest of my life and I was not willing to accept that. I love that I am no longer in pain and my range of motion has increased. I am doing things that I have not been able to do in years. There is not one thing about my chiropractic care at Choice Chiropractic & Wellness Center that I don’t like.

The staff is wonderful and thanks to my daughter's persistence I went to see Dr. Schnelle and now I am living my life instead of sitting in my recliner trying to take medication to relieve the pain. I could reduce the pain somewhat but in exchange was the side-effects of nausea and vomiting.

I would and do recommend Dr. Schnelle to others for care. What do you have to lose? Pain! I had not considered chiropractic care for my back… because I had tried it in the past and I didn’t get the results that I am getting now.  I now understand that chiropractic care has corrective and spinal stabilization benefits as well as symptom relief.  Part of my problem is I am so sensitive when it comes to my back and neck that I have a hard time relaxing and trusting the person working on me. I totally trust Dr. Schnelle. He explains everything and makes sure you know what the problem is and what the treatment entails. He has been a joy and I now get to enjoy my summer instead of lying in bed, sick and stressed.

I first saw Dr. Schnelle because I was experiencing lower back pain with sciatica radiating to my right hip and leg. I had suffered for about a year after being involved in an automobile accident. I was previously treated by a doctor in Florida, receiving a few adjustments and I was taking pain pills.

I have been treated great by the staff at Choice Chiropractic & Wellness Center. What I liked most about my care is that I feel like I am getting my health back slowly. Though I have not enjoyed the flare ups that I have experienced from time to time due to my condition. 

My results with Choice Chiropractic & Wellness Center are that I have gotten much better, but there have been some up and downs in my recovery. I would highly recommend Dr. Schnelle.

I am one of those people who believe if I just hang in there, everything will get better. This was not the case when it came to my back and after 30 years of issues I had finally had enough. I was suffering from a month long flare-up of constant pains, muscle spasms, and sciatic pain when a friend referred me to Dr. Schnelle. I also had a history of sharp neck pain and hand numbness.

Over the counter medications, icing, and Vicodan had not helped. The “hunch-back” shuffle had become my normal walking and standing position.  On a 0-10 pain scale, I was an 8.  

Dr. Schnelle diagnosed me with degenerative bone disease in my neck and lower back, which takes years to develop. I also had reversed curvature of my neck and misalignment of the spine. He was cautiously optimistic as he explained the treatment and commitment involved in my care.

After one month I felt 80% better. As treatment continued, I gained flexibility and range of motion. By month four, I was able to climb in and out of the attic crawl space with no aches or pains. A side benefit from the treatment is that my left knee no longer hurts when I go up and down the stairs. 

I have seen Dr. Schnelle twice for respiratory ailments; once with a very bad chest cold and once with the sniffles. Both times his spinal adjustments made a significant difference in lessening the symptoms and length of the illness. It’s a relief not to feel as if I’m fighting a cold all the time. Seeing Dr. Schnelle has opened up my life again, allowing me to be pain free and move easier.

Referring others to Dr. Schnelle is easy; he takes the time to explain the treatment and cares about how you are progressing. He sincerely wants to help others through chiropractics and is true to his word. Dr. Schnelle has proven to me that chiropractics doesn’t have to hurt to be effective.

I had been dealing with my sciatica for a year, before I sought Dr. Schnelle’s services.  I was unable to sit for more than 10 minutes without being in pain.  Dr. Schnelle took x-rays and put together a treatment plan for me.  I am happy to report after 9 months, I am able to sit and it has made travel much more enjoyable.  I have continued the maintenance program Dr. Schnelle gave me and still have success!
